Arturo “Durothethird” Parada was born in 1976 in Toronto, and his artistic career started almost immediately. His Chilean and Italian parents were political refugees, and recognized their son was destined for the arts after seeing his intricate Lego creations starting at the age of two. Driven by a need to create and inspired by personal tragedy, he learned to express himself through graffiti at the age of 14. His early work can be found throughout Scarborough and was quickly celebrated by the Scarborough Arts Council, who commissioned him to do more murals “Scarborough Royalty”.
He became the most published Canadian graffiti artist with his work appearing in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Sun, The New York Times, VICE Media, and many other local television and radio programs.
From Fortune 500 companies to local entrepreneurs, Duro dedicates his talents to helping those around him succeed in their endeavors and further their ambitions. Most recently Duro appeared at the MGM in Las Vegas to create a custom mural for the Tiesto pop-up shop which was featured highly at the EDC Festival.
