His love of film has taken him around the world; from Papua New Guinea, and Barbados to Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore, Vietnam and Kuala Lumpur in search of experiences and the stories they tell. Erskine Forde pka Skin possesses a tireless creativity fueled by his love of writing and enhanced by a fascination with photography.
An enthusiastic reader and writer from a young age, a chance meeting with a casting director landed Skin an eye opening job as a stand-in working alongside Lawrence Fishburne and started him on a path that has propelled him around the world seeking stories and the vivid images that accompany them. Encouraged to join a theatre group by a fellow actor, the experience ignited his imagination and before long he had written 3 plays 2 of which he directed.
His love of music led him from theatre into the world of music videos and after several volunteer positions his work ethic found him employment in Vancouver’s commercial industry where he became an Assistant Director. After 10 years of Canadian commercials, curiosity pushed him onto a plane and took him to South East Asia where he worked for 3 years as a 1st AD helping Directors from around the world execute their stories.
After returning to Toronto in 2009, he joined the Director’s Guild of Canada where his diligence and dedication led to becoming the 1st Assistant Director on the hit show Suits and immediately followed by an invitation to run the floor on Amazon’s The Expanse.
Skin currently sits on the board of the newly formed International Black Film Alliance whose mission is to create training and placement opportunities for the BIPOC community while continuing to write and create his own narrative work through his company indever films & entertainment Inc.
